The Winnipeg Indigenous Friendship Centre (WIFC) is seeking an individual for the position of Administrative Assistant. The incumbent will report directly to the Winnipeg Indigenous Friendship Centre (WIFC) Program Development and Innovation Coordinator, and CEO. Their primary role is to provide administrative support to the Winnipeg Indigenous Friendship Centre.

The successful candidate for this role will be keen to support the revitalization of a brand-new Friendship Centre for Winnipeg. This position would be well-suited for an individual who is interested in working in a dynamic setting, centred around the re-development and innovation required to establish our Friendship Centre. Assistance will be required with day to day operations, the candidate will as well support strategical planning and implementation of plans.

This position will require supporting the management of program funding agreements and all reporting requirements being completed. As well, the individual will maintain all files, statistical data, correspondence, record meeting minutes, manage membership base, assist with management of financials, and oversee all administrative requirements for the organization.

 Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration and/or relevant, applicable work experience in this field, required
  • Experience in all administrative functions, processes, procedures and practices is mandatory
  • Keen attention to details
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong digital and physical organizational ability
  • Resourceful and flexible aptitude
  • Efficient time management and leadership skills
  • Must adhere to the strictest of Confidentiality policies and practices
  • Strong understanding of community capacity building models of practice
  • Thorough knowledge of the Friendship Centre movement
  • Ability to prioritize work schedule, meet deadlines and multi-task duties
  • Must be willing to work as a team player
  • Ability to work professionally under stressful situations
  • Ability to provide a current Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry
