The Forks Outdoor Site Care Team will work on The Forks’ 52 acre site, to ensure the outdoor public spaces are clean, beautiful, safe, and welcoming for all visitors. Members of the Outdoor Site Care Team will work on The Forks site, maintaining outdoor spaces, supporting with the set-up and take-down of events, reporting potential safety issues, and assisting visitors as needed. An Outdoor Site Care Team member will assist in:

  • Monitoring and reporting safety hazards and maintenance issues promptly to ensure a safe and welcoming space for the community.
  • Summer grounds maintenance, including lawn care, landscaping, irrigation management, set-up of patio, pressure washing, and pest control to ensure a beautiful and welcoming outdoor space.
  • Winter grounds maintenance, including snow clearing, grooming of the Nestaweya River Trail and on-land skating trails, and ensuring slip-free walkways throughout the site.
  • Monitoring site-related supply inventory and communicate needs to the site supervisor.
  • Additional duties, which may include encampment clean-up, waste collection, supporting the operations teams with set-up and take-down of events, and assisting visitors.

An Outdoor Site Care Team member is someone who:

  • Has strong communication skills and is able to interact with various teams and visitors of The Forks.
  • Has excellent time management skills and pays close attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving abilities and is able to resolve issues quickly.
  • Is able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Is capable of working outdoors, in a variety of extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold temperatures, snow, and rain.
  • Has a valid driver’s license.
  • Is proficient in heavy equipment operation, such as ice resurfacers, skid steers, tractors, cargo bikes, power tools, and 2-stroke engines.
