The Northern Food Programs Coordinator is responsible for coordinating our northern food distribution in Manitoba. The coordinator will maintain communication and customer relations with our northern partners. In addition, the role will coordinate and weigh all completed orders leaving our organization, while tracking and monitoring inventory to meet the demands of the northern communities. You will be required to maintain all administration required for the Nutrition North Accreditation.

Duties:

  • Work with northern remote communities to better understand and support their varying food needs and capacities.
  • Coordinate northern orders, arrange shipping and follow-up regarding community satisfaction.
  • Track weights for incoming and outgoing food and products. This includes approving incoming and outgoing deliveries.
  • Work with our Indigenous Initiatives Manager to track outreach activities such as, site visits, onboarding of new communities, collect feedback, impact stories, and photographs from communities.
  • Support the Harvest’s Buyers Club digital marketplace. Facilitate and train community clients, maintain inventory and monitor accounts.
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse all Northern orders and deliveries that may impact inventory management.
  • As a Harvest Manitoba CREW member, support the team, however needed, to ensure operational needs are met.

About You:

  • A strong belief in the dignity of all human beings and a positive and caring approach.
  • Knowledge of food-security and poverty issues is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Northern Manitoba communities and Post Secondary education in a related discipline is an asset.
  • 2 Years experience in warehousing or logistics.
  • Experience in reconciling invoices and bills of lading.
  • Knowledgeable of safe food handling procedures.
  • The ability to perform physical labor such as lifting (upwards of 50 lbs.) and operating machinery.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 is required.
  • Previous experience with forklifts and/or pallet jacks is an asset.
  • Subject to complete a criminal background check.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract.
