Working hands-on with all departments to drive sustainability initiatives, the Sustainability Coordinator is the perfect role for someone who loves to roll up their sleeves, get their hands dirty, build meaningful relationships in the community, and tackle the necessary administrative work to make it all happen. This person will be responsible for supporting with all aspects of The Forks’ Target Zero program and will assist with and lead various related projects. The Sustainability Coordinator is someone who will:
- Oversee and maintain the Target Zero Programs and tours, ensuring compliance with sustainability goals.
- Assist, educate, and train teams and tenants in waste management and sustainability objectives.
- Provide hands-on management of licensed composting site, in all seasons, including collecting and processing organic material.
- Track and report on sustainability initiatives, including water meter readings, waste management, and composting metrics, while maintaining compliance with Manitoba’s composting regulations.
- Manage and maintain tools, equipment, and software systems, to ensure related assets are operational and up to date.
- Build and maintain relationships within the sustainability community.
The Sustainability Coordinator is someone who:
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Applies a customer service lens to everything they do.
- Is able to lead projects and is adaptable to new technology.
- Takes an open-minded, innovative, and adaptable approach.
- Is comfortable using Word and Excel. Experience with Microsoft Teams and HIPPO is an asset.
- Is able to interpret data and communicate to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Is able to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet required deadlines.
- Is able to work on their feet in a variety of weather conditions and is physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.
