An inner city youth agency requires a qualified individual to fill the position of Supervisor – Clean Machine II Waterways program. Reporting to the Director of Employment Services, the Supervisor will supervise crews of three youth aged 15-18 as they work on projects assigned by the City of Winnipeg Naturalist department. Projects may include weeding, garbage pickup, planting of flowers and gardens, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Waterways Program Supervisor’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting in the selection and orientation of crew members, ensuring the safety and supervision of all crew members. Effectively managing workloads to enable all work be completed correctly and efficiently. The Supervisor will also ensure pick up and drop off of collected refuse as well as execute accurate and timely administrative duties.

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 21 years of age due to rental car agreement.
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and provide a clear Driver’s Abstract
  • Experience working with youth from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a recent (3 months) clear criminal record and clear child abuse registry check or obtain before starting the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • First Aid/CPR training would be an asset
