A family advocate office through an organization of First Nations leaders in Manitoba seeks to fill two (2) full time Family Reunification Worker positions. Reporting directly to the First Nations Family Advocate, the Family Reunification Worker will collaborate with Manitoba First Nation Child and Family Services (CFS) agencies to identify children who are eligible for reunification.

Successful candidates will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of a pilot program that meets strategic objectives related to First Nations CFS reform.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Social Work degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working directly in the Manitoba child welfare system;
  • Strong knowledge of CFS system laws, regulations and standards and recent legal and regulatory developments;
  • Experience working with First Nations and in First Nation communities;
  • Knowledge of First Nation issues related to the CFS system and health services;
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Strong problem solving and organization skills;
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and ability to travel; and
  • Fluency in an Indigenous language is an asset.
