The Residential Tenancies Commission is a quasi-judicial, specialist tribunal that hears appeals from decisions and orders of the Director of the Residential Tenancies Branch (Branch) and conducts hearings and issues orders and decisions regarding landlord and tenant matters.

Duties:

The Bilingual Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing timely, high quality, helpful and efficient secretarial and administrative support. This position processes appeals and provides administrative and clerical support in French and English. The position reports directly to the Registrar and provides administrative support to the Registrar as well as the Assistant to the Chief Commissioner and Chief Commissioner when required.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Excellent French verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent French written communication skills.
  • Administrative experience including processing and formatting complex documentation and correspondence.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Desired:

  • Experience working with confidential documents and information.
  • Experience in interpreting legislation, policies and procedures to external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Residential Tenancies Act.
  • Experience processing documents in a legal environment.
